Higher Ground Abodes is a nonprofit organization. We support people who are extremely low income with housing through shared living, education, and advocacy. October 2024, we purchased our first home debt free. Our design is to renovate the property in the same manner - without debt! Once done, we will rent the home to four (4) young adults who are transitioning out of foster care.

Through our fundraising campaign - “The Village Home Project” - we are seeking dollars, deeds, and goods to make the house we purchased into a beautiful home as follows:

Phase III: Daily Living & Upkeep – Once move-in ready, residents will co-manage the home, handling maintenance, budgeting, and daily responsibilities.

We are seeking volunteers who capable to help with:

• Add bathroom fixtures

• Install electrical switches, outlets, and plates

• Install windows

• Prime and paint

• Re-install boiler system

• Add backsplash

• Install insulation

• Hang drywall

• Install flooring

• Refinish floors

• Install cabinets and countertops
